KJ 16km

Saturday

Went to the Kembla Jogger’s 16 km G-Man Bolt Trophy. It was a cold and
rainy afternoon that had us all huddled next to the toilet block for
shelter. It was a good turn out and I like going there for the company
as much as the running.

It was a handicapped start and my time was 20:54 so I hung around and
watched some of the other’s start. Then the time came and I was feeling
cold and stiff so I tried to start easy. The course had a few out and
back legs which had us passing each other so you could see who was in
front and who was catching. The handicap system is pretty fair since it
is only in the last 2 km that people really start passing each other and
the finish is a bit manic as we all finish very close.

I ran is in 70:43, which I believe is a faster pace then my 10km run 2
weeks ago so the short races must be doing something good J

Sunday

Went to Mittagong to run with Luckylegs, Wombatface and Flashduck.
Unfortunately a cold meant the last minute withdrawal of Flashduck.

We met at the train station and then drove to the start of LL’s regular
Sunday runs. We had a brief chat and then LL and I hit the road and WF
was to catch up on his bike. He only wanted to run 20km so the plan was
to ride 5km, chain up the bike and then run with us. LL and I ran at an
easy pace and chatted and enjoyed the magic views the area had to offer.
WF caught us near the 5km drink stop and after chaining up the bike we
all ran together.

Great countryside, brilliant views and even better company made for an
enjoyable 34km run.

Weeks total 107kms.
