practices it without any hope of fame and money, but

KJ 10km

Ran in the Kembla Joggers 10km at Mt Kembla today. I have never run a 10km race and was interested in what time I would do it in. I suppose the cool thing is what ever time I ran it in would be my 10km PB. The day was fine and a tad cool. There were heaps of people and as it was a handicapped event we all had our start time. The gun fired and 13minutes and 29 seconds later I started. I was trying to catch the guys who started about 10 seconds earlier but they were just too fast over the first km. Then a few faster bods caught me and I was feeling slow. I kept going focusing on my stride and eventually I started to pass a few people. Soon there were guys running back the other way so I was hoping the turn around would be near. The turn around came quickly enough and it was a nice easy downhill for ages. Heading back I could see all the higher handicap and I was hoping not too many would pass me before the finish. I ran hard all the way (for me) to finish the run in 43:47.
